Yep, in case you couldn't tell from my nonstop Facebook posting/Tweeting/Instagraming/Tumbling(? Is that what you call the act of posting to Tumblr?) Under Zenith is finally out!
I'm going to give you three reasons to go get it right now (besides the obvious reasons like I love this story and I want to share it with you guys!)

My year so far in gifs
It's only February but I already feel like this year is full of stuff.
Lots and lots of stuff.
And I don't want to write the world's longest, most boring, blog post. Because as odd as it is (since I'm a writer), I truly do not like writing blog posts. Can you tell? I always try to find a way around it by doing video blogs or blogs full of pictures instead.
So today, here's all the STUFF from this year so far. In gifs.
So my friend who we'll call Sparkle Pony (that's her super secret code name), decided to do an awful thing and get me hooked on a TV show literally a few weeks before the release of "Under Zenith". Now that wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have things to do. You know... like actually promoting the release.
Anyway, as I was watching this show and saw Ian Somerhalder suddenly I realized he should definitely be Hayden in Under Zenith.
So because I have no self-control, I tweeted that I was mentally re-casting Under Zenith with @IanSomerhalder.
Yep. I tagged him.
So then someone who was actually ON Vampire Diaries started following me on Twitter, probably thinking I was actually casting something with Ian Somerhalder in it. And I may or may not have just let them think that.
Of course, it didn't take them long to realize I was just some no name writer who spends all of her time chained to her computer. So they Twitter dumped me via hitting that big "unfollow" button. And I pretended not to notice.
And that was my 3 days of almost knowing someone on Vampire Diaries.
As none of you probably know (because I never announced it on social media for fear a murderer would know I was alone and come kill me) The Husband was out of town for a week! Leaving me by myself mid-Vampire Diaries obsession. REALLY bad idea.
But in that time, when I wasn't watching The Show instead of writing, I had friends over. This is a good thing. Except for when big things happen online and you don't check your Facebook or e-mails for like 3 days.
Because then once the friends leave I do what I normally do at home by myself.
And then I FINALLY check my mail and five people have e-mailed me saying "Chasing June" is a finalist in the Whitney Awards and I missed the whole "Hey I got nominated!" party that the other finalists had on Twitter!
And because I missed it, I start thinking maybe I'm not really a finalist and people are just nutso.
Luckily, I checked the website and it's not a lie! "Chasing June" is totally a finalist in the Whitney Awards! So yeah. I'm pretty amazingly happy that I get to wear a fancy dress again and stalk other authors and just generally be way too excited about the whole thing!

"Under Zenith" comes out in three days (on February 11th!).
Let me repeat that.
UNDER ZENITH COMES OUT IN THREE DAYS!
And what have I done to promote it?
Okay, admittedly I've done a lot the past few days. But that doesn't really help much when I should have been promoting all along.
But here's the thing. I LOVE to write. I don't love promoting quite as much.
When people tell me promotion is part of being a successful author I give them this look (because I know they're right and I hate it).
I feel weird talking about myself and being like "GUYS BEST BOOK EVER RIGHT HERE GO BUY IT!!!!!!"
But you kind of have to do that if you want anyone to read your stories so that you can keep writing them.
So every time I sat down to promote "Under Zenith" and not let my publisher down immensely, I'd be really pumped and ready to go.
And then I'd check my Facebook.
And my Twitter.
And Youtube.
And I was surrounded by distractions I just couldn't get rid of!
And now my book comes out in three days and I'm starting to be really worried that no one even knows what in the world it is.
But hopefully this blog post will let you know that, in fact, you HAVE to read it. Because as much as I hate self-promotion, I LOVE this book. And I loved writing it so much that I seriously racked my brain to figure out a way to write a sequel (which luckily has happened).
So PLEASE check it out when it comes out on the 11th. Because I love it. And I'm awful at promotion. But it's still a really fun book!
And if it actually does well on launch day, then I can look at that pesky distraction I call the internet and say

New Year's Fail... and a Blog Tour!
Yep. Didn't I predict the New Year's resolution to blog once a week would fail?
I think I might be psychic... but don't tell anyone!
Anyway, better late than never right? (Also it's not my fault because my friend Ashlee got me addicted to an embarrassing TV show, which will remain nameless, and it's completely consumed all of my time!)
So, "Under Zenith" will be here in less than a month and I've joined forces with the lovely ladies of The Merp Squad to put together a blog tour! The tour runs February 11th (the release day for UZ) through the 22nd. So if you're interested in joining up, just click here. It should be a good time!
Plus they made this totally gorgeous tour banner for me!
Also, on a totally unrelated note, this new awful obsession with an embarrassing TV show is making me want to recast Hayden from "Under Zenith" from one TV crush (a certain Killian Jones) to this guy, who shall also remain nameless... although, if you watch the show, you now know what I'm suddenly obsessed with.
Don't judge me.
So on that note, I'll leave you with a picture of the other "Hayden" (he's got the Hayden brood down) and try to be better about blogging in the future!

New Year's Revolution
Yep. I stole that blog title from the cute commercials for.. um... actually I don't even know what they're selling. I just know the kids are cute. No joke. I asked The Husband what the commercials were for so I could post it here and we had to have a serious mental powow to figure it out. (The Husband finally remembered!)
So, back to business.
Among many other resolutions that I probably won't be keeping this year, I'm going to try to blog at least once a week... wait... once every two weeks? Ugh. I'm an awful blogger you guys. Even when I've got books and things coming out I can't do it.
Here's how it goes.
Me: "Hey "The Husband", I'm going to go do book stuff for a bit! I'm even going to blog!"
The Husband: "Okay. I'll be doing the dishes and being wonderful." (A lot of times that really does happen. Hence why he's THE Husband).
Me: "Well, I have to get on Facebook so I can market. Oh my GOSH! Look at those cats trying to squeeze into bowls! Who posted this? Wait, how did I get on Youtube? Is that a Captain Swan fan video? Yes please! Oooo with a link to Tumblr? Oh that reminds me, I need to send Ashlee this Captain Swan gif. That means I need to get on Hotmail. Hey look there's a new e-mail about...."
Yeah.
That's how my "Marketing" goes. Which is why blog posts usually go out the window, because by the time I've finally exhausted the internet's cat videos and Captain Swan tributes, I need to go to bed and my blog is still just sitting there on an open tab. Who am I kidding? I only opened the tab in the first place to pretend I was going to blog.
But all of that is about to change!
Want to know why?
Because you guys will make me post! Okay. That's a lie. But still. It sounded good.
But really. I'm going to try to be better about keeping up with this blog. Especially because my favorite book I've ever written in the history of all the books I've ever written is coming out in a month!
I know it's probably poor author etiquette to have a "favorite" book but I don't care. This one is my favorite. Just don't tell the others.
Plus I may have hidden "Pwned" and "The Breakup Artist" Easter Eggs in this one. So be ready for that!
And be ready for some serious dysfunctional "relationships".

Happy Launch Day!
If you're reading this right now, it means I've survived through the crazy madness of the past few weeks and I'm now on the other side! The side where "Chasing June" is out in the world for everyone to enjoy and I'm sitting at my computer looking like Harry Potter at the end of ANY given Harry Potter movie; slightly stunned and covered in random goop and wounds from the rocky battlefield of launch day.
With that lovely mental image in your mind...
I'm excited to see what everyone thinks of "Chasing June". Her journey definitely led her far away from where I thought it was going. At the risk of sounding crazy, characters have a way of doing that. I kept telling her to do one thing and she'd do another! Headstrong girl.
Anyway, go have fun at the "Chasing June" launch party, because it should be epic! And let me know what you think of the book!

Chasing Events!
As you may know... or more likey DON'T know, because I'm an awful author who's been terrible about keeping everyone up to date with everything going on. Chasing June comes out December 14th! You know what that means? EVENTS!
That's right, we're doing this thing the right way!
We've got the Chasing June blog tour, which runs from December 1st-7th. During the course of that blog tour we'll have a Goodreads giveaway you can enter to win a signed paperback of none other than Chasing June itself! It'll be a blast! We'll have all sorts of awesome authors and book bloggers participating, so make sure you check it out.
Also, I'm going to do a Facebook launch party on December 14th! The last one for Sugar Coated was 4 hours and kind of constant chaos, so for this one, it'll only be two hours, but we'll have lots of prizes (e-books, generously donated by some amazing authors! Plus some signed bookmarks), TONS of games (how else will you win the prizes?), and way too much fun. The last Facebook launch party was a blast and I'm sure this one will be just as fun... if not better since I now know what I'm doing and DEFINITELY didn't before.
So there you have it!
